These “craft and culture” experiences are organized to enhance the mission of the Sons of Norway “to promote and preserve the heritage and culture of Norway.” These activities are free to members. They are open to those who are not members, but there is a $15 fee for non-members to offset expenses.
Potluck lunch – each day there will be a potluck lunch to share in good food and conversation. Bring a dish to share.
Carvers and rosemalers will be available on the dates indicated to assist those learning these crafts (barring some unforeseen circumstance). All are welcome to bring their knitting/crocheting, carving, painting, other crafts to enjoy the day.
July 31 – Sally Abrahamson and Herb Hoppe will be available to assist carvers, Bob Boylestad will be available to assist rosemalers.
August 16– Sally Abrahamson will be available to assist carvers; organized craft project – gnome wall hangings (inspiration hanging photograph below). Materials will be provided for the wall hangings. Free to Maine Nordmenn members; $15 material fee for non-members. If time allows, we’d love to have folks make one to take home and, if possible, make one to donate to our fundraising efforts. To insure we have an adequate supply of materials for participants, RSVP by August 2 is required.
RSVP to email@example.com or (207)216-4128.
A special thank you to Carolyn for being our host and to Bob, Herb and Sally for sharing their craft!
